Truck General Rules

  1. Be a Professional.
  1. Pullers must be 16 years of age or older to participate, must hold a valid driver’s license issued to them and must be able to present it in order to register.  Minors (under age 18) must have parent or guardian consent. No one under the age of 18 will pull outside the Stock or Outlaw Stock Classes.
  1. NO BEER OR ALCOHOL IN PIT!!!!  No consumption of alcohol by drivers until all pulling by contestant is completed.
  1. Any puller or their associate interfering with the performance of another pulling vehicle will be disqualified, and barred from the event.
  1. All drivers will pull at their own risk.  Championship Pulling Series, Inc. and Promoter of the event shall not be held responsible for any accident or injuries.
  1. Truck must remain within the boundaries of the track.  Failure to do so will result in disqualification.
  1. Pulling order will be determined randomly by draw.  All pullers must pull in assigned order within three minutes or be subject to disqualification.
  1. All pulls must start with a tight chain and be straight in line with the sled.
    1. Contestants will have two consecutive attempts and 100 feet to start the sled.
  1. The first puller in each class will have the option to pull again.  This decision must be made by the driver immediately following their first pull.  If a re-pull is decided, driver and truck must immediately return to the line-up to pull, and will pull in the 4th position.  No adjustments are allowed between re-hook or disqualification will result.
  1. Trucks must operate in a safe manner at all times.  No chain jerking or hot-rodding allowed.
  1. Operator must remain seated and drive in a safe manner.
  1. All trucks must be in neutral or park when being hooked or unhooked from sled.  “Hands up” signal by the driver will be used to indicate this is being followed.
  1. If your truck is four-wheel drive equipped, it must be in four-wheel drive to pull.
    1. If your truck’s drivelines break at any time, you will not be allowed to re-hook to the sled unless it is repaired.
  1. Truck must be occupied while it is running. 
  1. No passengers allowed while pulling.
  1. Judges have the option to reposition any puller in a class and adjust class running order based on class participation.
  1. Class pulling order and drivers order will be posted. 
  1. Loss of any weight, hitch or any other part of truck during pull will result in disqualification.  No weights allowed in cab!
  1. Weights and weight bracket must not exceed 60” from center of front axle.
  1. Any weight protests to pulling vehicles must be made before vehicle leaves the track.
  1. Hitch length for trucks will be calculated by the 30% rule unless indicated separately in the individual class rules.  Hitch height is not to exceed 26” measured from top of clevis or hitch.
  1. Hitch must be frame mounted only.  No trick or floating hitches.  Hitch must be rigid or solid in all directions at all times.  All pullers must furnish their own clevis or 3” opening ring.  Hitch must be horizontal to the ground. 
  1. Tires must be D.O.T. approved with indicated markings unless indicated separately in individual class rules.
  1. Sipeing of tires is allowed.  No grooving, grinding, sharpening, or removal of rubber allowed unless indicated separately in the individual class rules.
  1. No fuel tanks, pumps or lines in the driver compartment unless factory installed in any class period!
  1. Nitrous will not be allowed in any class.
  1. Must have complete firewall, steel, aluminum or lexan.  Holes allowed are for controls and wiring.
  1. Members of Championship Pulling Series only, may class jump if you register for multiple classes.
  1. Spot checks will be conducted throughout pulling season.
  1. Track officials have the right to move a puller to a different class.
  1. A driver’s meeting will be held prior to event start time.
  1. All trucks must scale prior to hooking to sled, immediately prior to the start of your class.
    1. Once weighed, you are staged.  Leaving the staging area is not allowed.
  1. Violations of any rule shall constitute a disqualification.  Arguing with judges will not be tolerated, and will result in immediate disqualification.
  1. ALL GENERAL RULES APPLY TO EVERY CLASS!!!
  1. ALL JUDGES DECISIONS ARE FINAL.  Failure to obey track officials will result in disqualification and may lead to removal from event. 

 

Stock Class

Outlaw Stock Class

  2. Gas engines only.  Engine make must match make of truck.
  3. One fuel only: GAS!
  4. No weight bars allowed.  Must have front bumper that is not enclosed.
  5. Must pull off rear bumper or trailer/receiver hitch.
  6. Must be licensed.  Lift kits allowed.
  7. Truck must have working brakes.  Must have working reverse lights.
  8. Truck can pull in the Outlaw Stock Class only.  No multiple class jumping.
  9. No electric water pumps.
  10. Aftermarket ignition systems allowed.
  11. No clamped springs.
  12. A/B/C fire extinguisher required.
  13. Electric fans allowed.
  14. Aftermarket mechanical fuel pumps allowed.
  15. 480 cubic inch motor.
  16. Driveshaft loops suggested.
  17. Exhaust mufflers required, extending 12” beyond cab.
  18. Weight added must be in truck box.
  19. Intake and Exhaust must be cast iron unless the engine was manufactured with an OEM aluminum intake.  Dual plane intakes with a max 4150 base.
  20. Any carburetor with 4150 base or spread bore allowed.
  21. No electric fuel pumps for fuel delivery system unless truck is factory equipped.
  22. Must open hood if requested by track officials.  If you refuse you will pull for exhibition only.

 

Improved Stock

  1. ALL GENERAL RULES APPLY!
  1. No multiple class jumping allowed.
  1. Motor must match truck make.  Must have stock driveline.
  1. OEM block and cast iron heads only. 
  1. Must have OEM front bumper. No weight bars or enclosed bumpers are allowed.  Weight must be added in pick-up box.
  1. No ladder bars, solid or blocked suspension.  Must be on springs.  No clamped springs. Lift kits allowed.  Must be stock frame and running gear.  No air bags allowed.
  1. Wheel base cannot exceed 135”.
  1. Hitch length can be no less than 30% of wheel base.
  1. 480 cu. in. limit.  Intake must be dual-plane with no air gap.  Exhaust must be cast iron unless equipped with factory tubular.  One 4150 style flange type carburetor is allowed.
  1. Engine must be mounted in stock location.
  1. Radiator and front grill must be in stock location.
  1. Electric fans are allowed.
  1. OEM stock water pumps are required, but may be electric driven. 
  1. Vehicles must have D.O.T. approved tires, no larger than 33”.
  1. Must have all safety equipment such as drive shaft loops, U-joints enclosed, working kill switch, neutral safety switch, explosion proof bell housing or scatter blanket and charged fire extinguisher within drivers reach.
  1. Must have 360-degree drive shaft loops in the middle of the shaft and 360-degree shields on all u-joints.
  1. Vehicle must have exhaust system with mufflers, 3” diameter, extending 12” beyond cab.
  1. D.O.T. approved helmet required.
  1. Must have working backup lights and alarm.

 

Street Legal

  1. ALL GENERAL RULES APPLY!!!
  1. Trucks must have D.O.T. street legal tires.  No bar or tractor tires allowed.  Max tire allowed is 35”.
  1. May run one 4 barrel 4150 style carburetor and aluminum intake.  Must have cast iron block and heads.  Motor must match truck make.
  1. No ladder, solid or blocked suspension.  Must be on springs.  No clamped springs. Lift kits are allowed.  Must use stock frame and running gear.
  1. No longer than an 8” lift block.
  1. 480 cu. in. engine limit.  No alcohol fuel.  Must be naturally aspirated. 
  1. Must have mufflers.  Exhaust must exit past driver’s compartment.
  1. Must have full box or D.O.T. legal flatbed.  No cut out boxes.
  1. Must have working brakes, with working reverse lights.  Backup alarm must be installed and working.
  1. Radiator and front grill must be in stock location.
  1. Hitch rule: refer to general rules.  Hitch must extend beyond rear of truck.  No short hitches.
  1. Complete SFI fire suit, including shoes, gloves and helmet required for pulling.
  1. Must have all safety equipment such as drive shaft loops, U-joints enclosed, working kill switch, neutral safety switch, explosion proof bell housing or scatter blanket and charged fire extinguisher within drivers reach.
  1. Must have 360-degree drive shaft loops in the middle of the shaft and 360-degree shields on all u-joints.
  1. Must use factory transmission and transfer case.
  1. Wheel base cannot exceed 135”.
  1. Hitch length can be no less than 30% of wheel base.
  1. Must retain factory steering.  Hydraulic steering is acceptable if pump and all of the orbital hoses are not in the driver’s compartment.
  1. All hitches will be mounted below the box floor.

 

4000 Open Class 

  1. ALL GENERAL RULES APPLY!
  1. Four motor mounts or torque chains required on motor.
  1. Complete SFI fire suit, including shoes, gloves and helmet required for pulling.
  1. Must have hood, front fenders, doors, box sides or legal type flatbed.
  1. No bare frames allowed.  Engine must be located in engine compartment.
  1. All safety requirements apply.  IE: drive shaft loops, U-joints enclosed, working kill switch, neutral light, engine side shields if factory fender liners are removed, explosion proof bell housing or SFI approved scatter blanket and fire extinguisher within driver’s reach.
  1. Must have 360-degree drive shaft loops in the middle of the shaft and 360-degree shields on all u-joints.
  1. Hitch must extend beyond the rear of truck.

 

Street Modified
6,200lbs

  1. ALL GENERAL RULES APPLY!
  2. The first puller in each class will have the option to pull again.  This decision must be made by the driver immediately following their first pull.  If a re-pull is decided, driver and truck must immediately return to the line-up to pull in last position.  Adjustments are allowed between re-hook, but you MUST re-scale.
  3. Trucks must have D.O.T. street legal tires.  No bar or tractor tires.  Tires must have D.O.T. numbers to be legal.
  4. May run one 4 barrel carburetor and aluminum intake.  Headers may protrude through the hood.  530 cu. in. limit.
  5. Motor must match pickup make and be behind stock grill location.
  6. Four motor mounts or torque chains required on motor.  Motor must be naturally aspirated.
  7. Location of motor should be 10” from back of the block to center line of front axle.
  8. Complete SFI fire suit, including shoes, gloves and helmet required for pulling.
  9. No Nitrous Oxide or alcohol allowed. 
  10. May use military/commercial axels.
  11. Wheel base cannot exceed 135”.
  12. Hitch length can be no less than 30% of wheel base.
  13. All safety requirements apply.  IE: drive shaft loops, U-joints enclosed, working kill switch, neutral light, engine side shields if factory fender liners are removed, explosion proof bell housing or SFI approved scatter blanket and fire extinguisher within driver’s reach.
  14. Must have 360-degree drive shaft loops in the middle of the shaft and 360-degree shields on all u-joints.
  15. This class will generally follow NTPA rules, with the exception of the rules mentioned above.

 

FWD Modified
6,200lbs

  1. ALL GENERAL RULES APPLY!
  2. The first puller in each class will have the option to pull again.  This decision must be made by the driver immediately following their first pull.  If a re-pull is decided, driver and truck must immediately return to the line-up to pull in last position.  Adjustments are allowed between re-hook, but you MUST re-scale.
  3. Four motor mounts or torque chains required on motor, and motor must be placed behind stock grill location.
  4. May have multiple carburetors or fuel injection and may protrude above hood line.
  5. Must be bar or tractor tires.  No D.O.T. tires allowed.
  6. Complete SFI fire suit, including shoes, gloves and helmet required for pulling.
  7. All safety requirements apply.  IE: drive shaft loops, U-joints enclosed, working kill switch, neutral light, engine side shields if factory fender liners are removed, explosion proof bell housing or SFI approved scatter blanket and fire extinguisher within driver’s reach.
  8. Must have 360-degree drive shaft loops in the middle of the shaft and 360-degree shields on all u-joints.
  9. Hitch must extend beyond rear of truck.
  10. Wheel base cannot exceed 135”.
  11. Hitch length can be no less than 30% of wheel base.
  12. Vehicle must have working backup lights.
  13. This class will follow NTPA rules, with the exception of the rules mentioned above.

 

Stock Diesel Rules
The Stock Diesel (SD) class is designed for daily-driven, on-the-road pickup trucks (full-bodied diesel pickup trucks). Valid DOT registration and license plates are mandatory. The vehicle must be four wheel drive.

Designations
Weight breaks
SD: 8000 lbs. Weight is with driver

REGULATIONS
Ballast:
Hanging front weights are prohibited. Ballast may be added in the bed of the truck. If used, ballast must be securely fastened to the bed.
Batteries:
The batteries must be securely mounted. They may not be located in the driver compartment or forward of the radiator core support.
Body:
The body must be the OEM truck body, including the full bed floor. The body must retain full sheet metal. Metal after-market hoods are permitted. The hood must be closed and securely latched while the vehicle is hooked to the sled.
Brakes:
Four-wheel hydraulic brakes are mandatory.
Chassis:
The OEM chassis is mandatory. The engine must be in the OEM location for the body used. The vehicle must retain the full OEM chassis. Wheel tubs, back-half conversions, tube chassis, etc., are prohibited.
Cooling System:
Radiators must be in the stock location and be of at least stock size.
Credentials:
All drivers must have a valid state driver’s license.
Driveline:
An OEM transmission and transfer case are mandatory. They must have been an option on a one-ton or smaller pickup.
Driver Restraint System:
The OEM restraint system is mandatory and must be worn.
Engine:
The engine is limited to a stock-appearing, OEM make-specific compression ignition engine.  After-market air intake is permitted.  Only one programmer is allowed.
Exhaust:
After market exhaust is permitted.  Exhaust must exit behind the cab. 
Fire Extinguisher System:
A fire extinguisher system is permitted. It must be securely mounted.
Firewall:
The complete OEM firewall is mandatory.
Floor:
The complete OEM floor pan is mandatory.
Fuel:
The fuel must be pump #1/#2 diesel only. Soy/Biodiesel fuel is permitted. Off-road diesel fuel is prohibited.

Fuel Injection Pump:
The fuel injection pump is limited to a stock-appearing, OEM engine model-specific pump only. The use of multiple high-pressure common-rail fuel pumps is prohibited. Powerstroke engines with a single factory turbo may utilize a second HPOP. Pumps from different years in the same engine model may be interchanged.
Fuel System:
The OEM fuel tank is mandatory and must be used. Racing fuel cells are prohibited and must be removed from the vehicle.
Hitch:
The hitch must be a "Reese"-style hitch; reinforcements are permitted. Trick hitches are prohibited.  The hooking point must be the rear-most point on the vehicle and must be rearward of the stock location of the tailgate. The hitch must be horizontal to the ground and stationary in all directions.  Bumpers may be notched or removed. The hitch's height from the ground may not exceed 26
inches. The hooking point must have a minimum 3.00 inch inside diameter opening for the sled hook.  The hooking point will be measured to the center of the clevis loop.
Interior:
A complete interior, including dashboard, door panels, headliner, etc., is mandatory. Two matching front seats are mandatory. Aftermarket seats are permitted; they must be fully upholstered. All factory controls (lights, signals, horn, windows, wipers, etc.) must be retained and be operative.
Nitrous Oxide:
Nitrous oxide is prohibited. No other oxygen extenders are allowed. All system components must be removed from the truck.
Propane:
Propane is prohibited. All system components must be removed from the truck.
Rear End:
Non-OEM rear-end housings are prohibited. It must have been an option on a one-ton or smaller pick up. Rear axle bolts must be covered by a cap or shield.
Steering:
The vehicle must retain the full, original OEM steering gear. The vehicle must retain the original OEM power assistance, if it was so equipped. Additional stabilizers are permitted. Non-OEM power assist methods are prohibited.
Suspension, Front:
The upper mounting point for strut assemblies must be in the factory location. Adjustable caster/camber pillow ball mounts are permitted. The lower control arm may be strengthened provided factory-mounting points to chassis are maintained. The lower mounting point for the strut assembly may be modified for improved caster or camber. Strut tower braces, lower tie bars, sway bars, and
limit straps are permitted. Traction bars and devices are permitted.
Suspension, Rear:
An OEM-style suspension is mandatory. Lowering or raising the vehicle height with suspension modifications is permitted. Traction bars and devices are permitted; they must be bolt-on only; welds are permitted for attachment to frame or axle housing. All OEM suspension mounting points must be retained and used. Sway bars, limit straps, and camber kits are permitted. The rear suspension must maintain a minimum compression shock travel of one inch; compression stops must be adjustable. All rear suspensions must use at least one working shock absorber per wheel. Airbag spring assistance is permitted; airbag compressors must be disconnected.
Tires:
The tires must be DOT street tires. Cut tires are prohibited.
Tow Vehicles:
Tow vehicles are prohibited.

 

Transfer Case:
Non-OEM transfer cases are prohibited. The transfer case must have been an option on a one-ton or smaller pick up truck.
Transmission, Automatic:
Non-OEM transmissions are prohibited. Aftermarket torque converters, valve bodies and internal components are permitted. Transmission brakes are prohibited. Any non-OEM floor-mounted automatic transmission shifter must be equipped with a spring-loaded positive reverse lockout device to prevent the shifter from accidentally being put into reverse gear. A functional neutral safety switch is mandatory. All transmission lines must be metallic or high-pressure-type hose. All vehicles with engines running 4500 RPM or more and using an automatic transmission must be equipped with a transmission shield meeting SFI Spec 4.1 and must be labeled accordingly. A blanket-type shield is permitted; it must be appropriately labeled as meeting SFI Spec 4.1 and it must extend from the rear of the block to the front of tail housing with a minimum six inch overlap where it is fastened. All nonblanket-type shields must incorporate two (or one, per manufacturer’s instructions) 3/4 inch by 1/8 inch straps that bolt to the shield on each side and pass under the transmission pan unless the transmission pan is labeled as meeting SFI Spec 4.1. All vehicles with engines running 4500 RPM or more and using an automatic transmission must be equipped with a flex plate meeting SFI Spec 29.1 and be covered by a flex plate shield meeting SFI Spec 30.1.
Transmission, Manual:
Non-OEM transmissions are prohibited. Aftermarket internal components are permitted. A clutch meeting minimum SFI Spec 1.1 or 1.2 is mandatory on all vehicles with engines running 4500 RPM or more. All manual transmissions must be clutch assisted. Sequential shifters are prohibited. All vehicles with engines running 4500 RPM or more and equipped with a manual transmission must
have a flywheel shield labeled as meeting minimum SFI Spec 6.3 or greater. Applications for which an SFI Spec flywheel shield is not available may use a properly attached SFI 4.1 or 4.2 blanket that completely covers the bell housing; it must be attached to the block and extend rearward to the transmission with a minimum six inch overlap where it is fastened.
Turbocharger:
The vehicle is limited to a single turbocharger; the inducer bore on the compressor housing may be no larger than 2.5 inches measured at the smallest diameter of the compressor Cover inducer bore. Cutting down or nipped compressor wheels are not acceptable.
Water Injection:
Water injection is prohibited. All system components must be removed from the truck.
Wheelbase:
The vehicle must retain the original factory wheelbase and track width.
The vehicle driver will be responsible for making compressor wheel accessible for tech personal to measure bore and be able to inspect compressor wheel. Vehicle will not pass tech or be allowed to compete until this happens

 

Super Street Diesel Rules
The Super Street Diesel (SD) class is designed for streetable pickup trucks (full-bodied diesel pickup trucks).. The vehicle must be four-wheel drive.

Designations:

Weight breaks:
8000 lbs. Weight is with driver.

REGULATIONS
Ballast:
Ballast is permitted. Hanging weights may not extend more than 60 inches from the centerline of the front axle.
Batteries:
The batteries must be securely mounted. They may not be located in the driver compartment or forward of the radiator core support.
Body:
The body must be the OEM truck body, including the full bed floor. The body must retain full sheet metal. Metal after-market hoods are permitted. The hood must be closed and securely latched while the vehicle is hooked to the sled.
Brakes:
Four-wheel hydraulic brakes are mandatory.
Chassis:
The OEM chassis is mandatory. The engine must be in the OEM location for the body used. The vehicle must retain the full OEM chassis. Wheel tubs, back-half conversions, tube chassis, etc., are prohibited.

Radiators must be in the stock location and be of at least stock size.

Driver Safety Attire:
SFI approved fire suit recommended.  SFI approved footwear, or work boots are recommended.  No sandels.  SFI approved helmet recommended.
Driveshaft Loops:
All trucks must have at least six inch wide u-joint shields around the rear u-joint constructed of at least 1/4 inch steel or 3/8 inch aluminum that will safely contain the u-joint and the end of the rear shaft. All shields must be securely mounted to the vehicle. Any front shaft u-joint that is visible from the side of the truck must be shielded to contain the u-joint and the end of the shaft.
Engine:
The engine block must have been available as a factory option on a one-ton or smaller pickup truck.  Blocks must circulate coolant freely. The use of concrete or  other block fillers is prohibited. There will be no limit on RPM.  450 cubic inch size limit.  Air shut-off is required.

 

Exhaust:
All vehicles must be equipped to direct exhaust upward or downward. Two 3/8 inch diameter bolts must be placed through the exhaust pipe in a cross pattern within one inch of each other as close to the turbo as is practical.
Fire Extinguisher System:
A fire extinguisher system is permitted. It must be securely mounted.
Firewall:
The complete OEM firewall is mandatory.
Floor:
The complete OEM floor pan is mandatory.
Fuel:
The fuel must be pump #1/#2 diesel only. Soy/Biodiesel fuel is permitted.
Fuel Injection Pump:
The fuel injection pump is limited to a stock-appearing, Dual high-pressure common-rail fuel pumps or HPOPs are permitted. Ag governors are permitted on P Pump applications.
Fuel System:
The OEM fuel tank is mandatory and must be used. Racing fuel cells are prohibited and must be removed from the vehicle.

The hitch must be a "Reese"-style hitch; reinforcements are permitted. Trick hitches are prohibited.  The hooking point must be the rear-most point on the vehicle and must be rearward of the stock location of the tailgate. The hitch must be horizontal to the ground and stationary in all directions.  Bumpers may be notched or removed. The hitch's height from the ground may not exceed 26 inches.  The hooking point must have a minimum 3.00 inch inside diameter opening for the sled hook. The rear suspension must maintain a
minimum compression travel of one inch. All rear suspensions must use at least one working shock absorber per wheel.

Tires:
The tires must be DOT street tires. Cut or bar tires are prohibited.  Single tire width is limited to 12.5”, Dual tire width is limited to 10.5”.
Tow Vehicles:
Tow vehicles are prohibited.
Transfer Case:
Non-OEM transfer cases are prohibited. It must have been an option on a one-ton or smaller pick up truck.
Transmission, Automatic:
Non-OEM transmissions are prohibited. Aftermarket torque converters, valve bodies and internal components are permitted. Transmission brakes are prohibited. Any non-OEM floor-mounted automatic transmission shifter must be equipped with a spring-loaded positive reverse lockout device to prevent the shifter from accidentally being put into reverse gear. A functional neutral safety switch is mandatory. All transmission lines must be metallic or high-pressure-type hose. All vehicles with engines running 4500 RPM or more and using an automatic transmission must be equipped with a transmission shield meeting SFI Spec 4.1 and must be labeled accordingly. All nonblanket-type shields must incorporate two (or one, per manufacturer’s instructions) 3/4 inch by 1/8 inch straps that bolt to the shield on each side and pass under the transmission pan unless the transmission pan is labeled as meeting SFI Spec 4.1. All vehicles with engines running 4500 RPM or more and using an automatic transmission must be equipped with a flex plate meeting SFI Spec 29.1 and be covered by a flex plate shield meeting SFI Spec 30.1.
Transmission, Manual:
Non-OEM transmissions are prohibited. Aftermarket internal components are permitted. A clutch meeting minimum SFI Spec 1.1 or 1.2 is mandatory on all vehicles with engines running 4500 RPM or more. All manual transmissions must be clutch assisted. Sequential shifters are prohibited. All vehicles with engines running 4500 RPM or more and equipped with a manual transmission must
have a flywheel shield labeled as meeting minimum SFI Spec 6.3 or greater. Applications for which an SFI Spec flywheel shield is not available may use a properly attached SFI 4.1 or 4.2 blanket that completely covers the bellhousing; it must be attached to the block and extend rearward to the transmission with a minimum six inch overlap where it is fastened.
Turbocharger:
The vehicle is limited to a single turbocharger; a 2.8 bushing will need to be used if the compressor wheel exceeds 2.8 If a bushing is used, it must be round, at least 3/4 inch long, mounted within 0.050 inch of the compressor wheel, and the inside diameter of the bushing may not exceed the 2.8 inch limit. The inlet will be measured using a 2.85 inch plug. A stock map width enhancement (MWE) groove is allowed. No MWE groove will be allowed that has a width greater than 1/4 inch. All provisions allowing air to the wheel other than via the bore and the MWE groove are prohibited.
Water Injection:
Water injection is permitted.
Wheelbase:
The vehicle must retain the original unaltered factory wheelbase and track width. Front dual-wheel spacers may be used only with accompanying positive-offset dually-style wheels.

Open Diesel Rules
The Open Diesel (OD) class is designed for modified pickup trucks (full-bodied diesel pickup trucks). The vehicle must be four-wheel drive.

Designations:

Weight breaks:
8500 lbs. Weight is with driver.

REGULATIONS
Balancer:
SFI Balancer or Balancer Shield made of 3/8” steel is required.
Ballast:
Ballast is permitted. Hanging weights may not extend more than 60 inches from the centerline of the front axle.
Batteries:
The batteries must be securely mounted. They may not be located in the driver compartment.
Body:
Metal after-market hoods are permitted. The hood must be closed and securely latched while the vehicle is hooked to the sled.  Fiberglass bodies are permitted.
Brakes:
Two-wheel hydraulic brakes are mandatory.
Credentials:
All drivers must have a valid state driver’s license.
Driveline:
An open driveline any differential may be used.
Driver Restraint System:
Driver restraint system is mandatory and must be worn.
Driver Safety Attire:
SFI approved fire suit required.  SFI approved footwear, or work boots are required.  No sandals.  SFI approved helmet required.
Driveshaft Loops:
All trucks must have at least six inch wide u-joint shields around the rear u-joint constructed of at least 1/4 inch steel or 3/8 inch aluminum that will safely contain the u-joint and the end of the rear shaft. All shields must be securely mounted to the vehicle. Any front shaft u-joint that is visible from the side of the truck must be shielded to contain the u-joint and the end of the shaft.
Engine:
Any diesel engine less than 550 cubic inch may be used.  There will be no limit on RPM.  550 cubic inch size limit.  Air and Fuel shut-off is required.  Engine side shield is required with 3/8” steel or ½” aluminum.
Exhaust:
All vehicles must be equipped to direct exhaust upward or downward. Two 3/8 inch diameter bolts must be placed through the exhaust pipe in a cross pattern within one inch of each other as close to the turbo as is practical.
Fire Extinguisher System:
A fire extinguisher system is permitted. It must be securely mounted.
Firewall:
A complete firewall is mandatory.
Floor:
A complete pan is mandatory.
Fuel:
The fuel must be pump #1/#2 diesel only. Soy/Biodiesel fuel is permitted.
Fuel Injection Pump:
The fuel injection pump is limited to a stock-appearing, dual high-pressure common-rail fuel pumps or HPOPs are permitted. Ag governors are permitted on P Pump applications.
Hitch:
The hitch's height from the ground may not exceed 26 inches.  The hooking point must have a minimum 3.00 inch inside diameter opening for the sled hook. The hooking point will be measured to the center of the clevis loop.
Nitrous Oxide:
Nitrous oxide is prohibited. No other oxygen extenders are allowed. All system components must be removed from the truck.
Propane:
Propane is prohibited. All system components must be removed from the truck.
Tires:
Cut, bar, or dual tires are permitted.
Tow Vehicles:
Tow vehicles are permitted.
Transmission:
Must have SFI approved bell housing or SFI approved scatter blanket.
Turbocharger:
The vehicle is permitted to use turbochargers with no size limit.
Water Injection:
